Murray Melnick

We are so honored to have 2 more Murray Melnick photographs in this show. His work has such integrity and atmosphere because he continues to develop and print his work in a dark room, the only way he knows how. Even though parts of Graffiti can be seen in our advertising for this show, come by and see his prints for yourself while they're here.

Born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Murray received a degree in commercial art from the Pratt Institute. His photography career spans a stint in the Army, numerous gallery shows, and large-scale works such as “The Spirit of Greenwood”, an ongoing photo documentary of Greenwood Cemetery. With an affinity for shooting architecture, Murray is inspired by the hunt for rich subjects and the discovery of the overlooked. He is excited about his next project, reinvestigating his old neighborhood of Williamsburg, which has since become the graffiti capital of the world.
